Live the exclusive experience at Bed&Show with our design accessories
Cristina Oriani is the owner of an innovative and interesting project base in the heart of the city of Design: Milan. In this context, our design accessories are performers of the show.
In via Tortona she developed a funny project called Bed&Show, a series of home-showroom in which the accessories have been selected between different design companies. The purpose is to allow the guests to interact with accessories and with the brand, the core of this concept and philosophy.
We decided to have a small talk with her in order to know the secrets of hospitality, her innovative project of contract and the choice of design accessories.
1. Cristina, first of all we are very pleased to have you as our guest in our blog. The first question we would like to ask you is: how was the idea of Bed&Show and Experience design born?
When I followed the works for my home, I understood personally how much sometimes we feel disoriented in front of a wide range of design accessories, with different costs, and how much tiring was the choice of the right product. We need to enhance our Made in Italy and learn to be more aware in the choices. Hence, the Experience Design project, a real experience to live, suitable for all, all year round, to try out furniture and accessories contextualized in a real home space.
2. Your project has also received the favorable reviews of different companies. Ever Life Design was the first one that decided to participate to this initiative. Could you tell us what was the criteria used to choose us?
Ever Life Design struck me immediately for its ability to innovate and pursue new challenges by creating multifunctional solutions with high quality materials. I always try to find original solutions for an experience that remains etched in the hearts and the minds of my guests and in this case I have fully succeeded.
3. Usual question, how have lived though these months of restrictions and lock down?
The situation was very destabilizing for the whole sector, there was a great regret of not having had people at the Bed&show for a long time, seeing them living the design experiences, but we hope that slowly we can get back to normal.
4. What future do you see for your project?
I would like to increase the number of rooms to offer even more spaces to live, different from each other, and also develop digital initiatives to interact with what is inside and also to develop the direct sales channel of the products exposed, but also with new ideas offered by companies for Bed&Show customers.
5. Would you advise hoteliers to insert our design accessories in their structure?
Sure, because they are winning products both for functionality and design, and they are a very useful aid for guests who may also have disabilities.
In this way the accomodation has the possibility to offer something more and be sensitive to the different needs of its guests, diversifying itself from the competitor.
6. Projects for the next Salone del Mobile?
The next edition of September will be a low-key event if compared to what we are used to see. The set – up of the fair will be very small, but for this reason I am sure that the Fuorisalone will be even more important than usual to give back to the city of Milan the creativity and the lively atmosphere among the design districts. For this reason, as Experience Design together with the companies, we will try to offer open days to the public and the presentation of new design accessories with the opportunity to try them.
