Who is Camilla Bellini: how and where her story on design accessories was born
A girl, but not one like many: Camilla Bellini has been able to interpret her passion for design by transforming it into something new and influential. Her digital story goes over the Instagram aim, and the result is an expert and engaging tale. L’abbiamo voluta intervistare facendole le domande che, spesso seguendola sui social, ci siamo fatti.
1. Camilla, where does your love for design and architecture come from?
Everything started when I was at high school. I attended the art institute in Siena, my City, with a specialization in architecture. This is where this passion began, enhanced with subsequent studies at the University of Architecture in Florence, with a degree in Industrial Design.
2. When did you realize that this passion could be turned into a digital story, giving you the possibility to be one of the most followed influencers?
After my degree, I have been working for a few years in architecture studios between Siena and Florence and, in the meantime, like everyone else, I created my profile on Facebook and Instagram. Here, I started sharing my daily life, made up of business meetings, sketch and project inspirations.
In a short time, a community of enthusiasts and professionals of this sector was created around me. Slowly, day after day, offering quality contents and improving my communication approach, the audience has expanded. I have been able to get noticed by sectorial events and to enter in the world of design companies. We can say that it was a constant and continuous process, result of a strategic work.
3. What have been the steps of the project?
I started with social (Facebook e Instagram) and than I decided to focus on my personal space, the blog. In this way, on social network I was able to intercept people interested in the topics I was dealing with and I brought them on my website to read my articles and look at my gallery. When the blog started to have a good audience, my articles started to rank on Google, getting more and more views. The tenacity and the daily diligence helped me to believe in this project even during periods in which everything seemed to go wrong.
4. How do you describe a design accessory on social media?
The approaches to the story on social networks can be different. What works for me may not work for someone else and vice versa. I use a very emotional and experiential style. As I show every day on Instagram, I like to touch things, to move them, to make a real experience with them. So my approach is fluid, in continuous happening.I always get in touch with object with the amazement of those who do it for the first time, because that is the case. There is nothing premeditated or studied in advance. These are sensations that I want them to remain authentic, in order to be transmitted to those who follow me with passion.
5. If you imagine yourself in five years, which words would you use to describe that moment?
It is difficult to predict the future, especially in these moments. Experience, passion, commitment, authenticity and quality are words that I always want to bring with me and that I would use for sure.
6. Let’s talk about design. What are, in your opinion, the challenges for those who create accessories?
The theme of accessories is strictly connected to people’s needs. Not only individual needs, but also those related to relationships, spaces, closeness. They are delicate and interesting themes, that are suitable to multiple interpretations and are closely connected to what happens in everyday life. Listening and flexibility are dynamics that companies must begin to deepen.
Listening and anticpate people’s needs is important to have a flexible manufacturing, and, above all, we begin to give more space to the very young generation ( Gen Z ), real trend setter.
7. Camilla, your personality traits are clearly visible on your profile. Tell us the secret, how to become an influencer like you?
No secret, I swear! Commitment, quality and perseverance, no shortcuts. And it is also necessary a lot of passion. It is a job that gives you a loti f you give it a lot, it is a continuous exchange. In these years I had the opportunity to know a lot of people, professionals and incredible realities, but there are also many uphill roads. The most important thing is to remain yourself, because those who pretend are exposed, it is just a matter of time.
8. Have you tested Tape Fit/Storage and shower? What do you think about these design accessories?
The quality of the materials used, first of all. They are beautiful accessories to photograph, not just to use. Concerning the “fit” sector, at last there are resistant objects, with a very stylish aesthetic line that can be easily inserted in domestic contexts. Too often, those who want to do a simple workout at home, have to settle for something very poor in terms of quality and totally lack of finishing. Functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand also in the case of Tape shower, and generally for all the other products EVER Life Design I have personally used.
